About Bender . . .
Ship Repair
For more than 75 years, Bender has been a leading ship repair facility on the central Gulf
of Mexico. Now, we're even better. Along our 7,000 feet of deep water frontage, we've
built new yards and wet docks, improved equipment, and expanded dry docks to raise lifting
capacities to more than 24,000 tons. Our Panamax dry dock and an around-the-clock
workforce put muscle behind our promise of fast, reliable ship repair. Now, more than
ever, Bender is your best choice for ship repair on the Gulf of Mexico.
New Construction
Bender also builds all types of vessels, crabbers, offshore supply vessels, push boats,
shrimp boats, factory trawlers, riverboats, passenger vessels, tuna seiners, tug boats....
With more than 800 Bender-built ships currently operating worldwide, the list goes on and
on.
From the smallest tug to the largest trawler, our vessels share one very important advantage:
a company-wide commitment to quality. For more than 70 years, Bender has been known throughout
the world for solidly built vessels, delivered on time and at a competitive price.
Mobile, Alabama
Founded in 1702, Mobile has a rich maritime heritage. When the French colonized the Gulf
Coast, they established the city of Mobile at the point where the Mobile River flows into
the bay. This natural harbor has prospered through three centuries as both a river and a
deep-water port.
Today, Mobile is the outlet for the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which connects the city with the nation's major river
systems and inland ports.
Take a look at what our facilities
look like from the air. While you're
at it, we also have a map that will
show you Bender's location relative to the rest of the Gulf of Mexico coastline, as well
as distances from major ports. Also, don't forget about our career opportunities.
