It is the policy of Bender Shipbuilding & Repair Co.,
Inc. to provide equal employment opportunity without regard to race,

adopted an Affirmative Action Plan covering minorities, women, disabled

Company Policy On Affirmative Action
The policy of Bender Shipbuilding and Repair Co., Inc. continues
to be to employ each individual on the basis of the qualifications, competency,
and potential, and is not influenced by race, color, religion, sex, age,
or national origin.
Bender Shipbuilding and Repair Co., Inc. accomplishes the
following actions in all Mobile operations based upon the availability of
minorities and females in the Mobile SMA area and in the State of Alabama
from which the company actively recruits:
- Hiring, training on-the-job, and promoting in all
job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age,
or national origin.
- Making employment decisions based upon the qualifications
of the individual applicant.
- Making promotion and transfer decisions in accordance
with the requirements of the job, and in conjunction with validated
job performance related criteria to reflect the spirit of equal opportunity.
- Insuring that company personnel actions are fully
administered based upon qualifications, and without regard to race,
color, religion, sex, age, or national origin as they pertain to compensation,
company benefits, transfers, layoffs, return from layoffs, and company
sponsored training, on-the-job training, and when available, social
and recreational programs.
Bender Shipbuilding and Repair Co., Inc. endorses this equal
